Description
Participation of the Sidon Chamber of Commerce in Beirut Port Discussion: Lebanon Port Sector Reform, Recovery, and Development
The Sidon Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its participation in the "Lebanon Port Sector Reform, Recovery, and Development" discussions, organized by the Beirut Urban Lab, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI), and the Arab Center for Architecture (ACA), with technical assistance from the World Bank.
This initiative, comprising several sessions, aims to foster a deeper understanding of the multiple critical planning challenges raised after the port explosion, to restore and rebuild what has been destroyed, and to mitigate the cumulative impacts of poor governance, uncontrolled urbanization that has been ongoing since the 1950s, and post-civil war reconstruction policies.
This is a timely opportunity to open transparent discussions and consultations with private and public stakeholders for consensus building, involving experts, academics, governmental bodies, economic institutions, and civil society organizations.
The Sidon Chamber of Commerce reaffirms its full commitment to supporting all efforts and initiatives aimed at enhancing economic and social development in Lebanon and working with all parties to achieve a better and more sustainable future for the port sector in the country.
